As a member of KyRID, you are able to attend any of these Region III Affiliate
Chapter sponsored workshops and conferences and receive their member
registration rate. But you don't have to live there or be a member of that
chapter. It's seven for the price of one! This can add up to big savings for
the conference attendee. Plus you will have the opportunity to meet and network
with interpreters from outside of Kentucky.
KyRID is the Kentucky state chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the
Deaf. KyRID is the professional organization for the interpreters and
transliterators for the Deaf, at the local level. KyRID has members across the
state of Kentucky, which you may have seen interpreting on political
grandstands, in churches, in schools, on television, in courtrooms, in
hospitals, in theaters, and any place where communication is vital.
The philosophy of RID and KyRID is that excellence in the delivery of
interpretation and transliteration services among people who are Deaf, or Hard
of Hearing, and people who are hearing, will ensure effective communication. As
the professional association for interpreters and transliterators, the RID
serves as an essential arena for its members in their pursuit of excellence, as
KyRID does within the state of Kentucky.
