Greetings All,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the KyRID website. Thanks to the board for their hard work. We are always a work in progress, looking for ways to improve communication with you our members.
My feeling is if you are a Kentucky Interpreter you not only benefit yourself, but the profession as a whole by being a member of your state organization. I would like to encourage you to get involved in some way. It is an awesome opportunity to branch out, learn the business, and make some life long friends.
Our conferences are geared to try to meet the variety of needs we have. I must say there have been some awesome conferences lately! In the fall we alternate between Eastern and Western Kentucky. In the spring we try to keep the conferences centrally located.
I have been hearing some things from other states about “Kentucky Interpreters”. We have been called things like “supportive, encouraging, and friendly”. Imagine that! What a great reputation to have!
In closing I am hopeful that we as Kentucky Interpreters will continue to have a “reputation” of the positive kind. Spread the word to your friends. Everybody is doing it! Join KyRID, get a reputation. I look forward to seeing you at the next conference.
