“Ethical Mental Health Interpreting-An Interactive Workshop”

This workshop will look at the ethics involved in effective mental health interpreting. From scheduling through post-session, interpreters will be challenged to look at potential ethical dilemmas, use the Demand-Control schema to address them, and employ best practices in mental health work throughout.
Interpreters will:
- Identify key expectations of the Department for interpreters working in Community Mental Health Centers and state facilities.
- Will Practice processing ethical dilemmas using elements of the Demand-Control schema.
- Will identify areas fro future professional development and growth in the area of mental health interpreting.
(Minimum of ten (10) participants must be pre-registered or workshop will be cancelled)
